Financial statements of 77 companies released on the same day before Tihar Holiday
Kathmandu. 77 companies listed on the stock market and not have released their financial statements on the same day on Friday. Companies that had time to publish their financial statements by the 30th have already published their financial statements before Tiharvida.
In this way, when the financial statement is published on the same day, it is seen that the quarterly financial statement is not to inform the investors and stakeholders, but only to fulfill the rules set by the regulatory body. When more than four dozen companies publish their financial statements in different newspapers on the same day, how much time do investors and stakeholders get to study and analyze them all? When the companies that had a month’s time came and published the financial statements only on the last day, it became difficult for the investors to see the financial statements of the company. When so many companies publish their financial statements on the same day, investors are eager to see the details.
When the reports are piled up in one day, those who analyze the study do not even get time. On Friday, October 24th, on the same day, 77 companies listed in NEPSE and not have published their financial statements. There are nearly 6 dozen companies listed in NEPSE.
Most of the companies that have disclosed their details are hydropower and microfinance companies. Commercial banks have been instructed to publish their financial statements within three weeks of the end of the quarter, so all banks have already published their financial statements a few days ago. Other companies were given time till mid-October.
Since the Tihar holiday is at the end of October, the companies have released their financial statements about a week before. Some listed companies are yet to disclose their details. Some companies have not yet shown the will to fulfill the rule that the financial statement must be published and submitted within 30 days of the end of the quarter set by the regulatory bodies.
The financial statements of most of the companies that publish their financial statements do not appear to be satisfactory. The impact of recession in the economy has also been seen in the financial statements of the companies.
