Government’s Decision to write Nepal Samvat Mandatory in Government Documents From now on

Kathmandu : The Government of Nepal has decided to mention Nepal Samvat in Sakari documents from now on.

The cabinet meeting held on Monday has decided to mention Nepal Samvat in the government documents which have been mentioning Bikram Samvat since Nepal Samvat 1144.

Nepal Samvat 1144 is starting on Tuesday. Chairman of the Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal gave national recognition to Nepal Samvat in 2065 when he was the Prime Minister for the first time.

The founder of Nepal Samvat is Shanadhar Sakhwa. This Samvat was started from Vikram Samvat 936 to commemorate the day when he paid the debts of poor people and made them debt free.
