December 16th, 2023

Kathmandu : Chairman of Nepal Securities Board Ramesh Hamal has said that since he has brought a clear blueprint for the reform of the market he will continue to do things that will benefit the market even to the last second of his tenure.

Sebon President Hamal made this claim when his tenure was about to end. At the inauguration ceremony of Nabil Stock Dealer Limited on Friday, he said, “I have not come to the government with any bag of plans.” I have come with a clear blueprint that I will do governance enforcement and improvement.

Aiming at the media, President Hamal complained that important policy reforms should be done on the way from Sebon, which is not happening. He asked CDSC and NEPSE to be clear about the lock-in period that everything must be mentioned so that investors can see it easily and if it is not done, action will be taken. He said that 20 days should be kept mandatory and the details should not be removed even for 1 week after the login.

He insisted that there has been an improvement in the old lockup transparency from the lock-in period system. Stating that policies that are not in the interest of investors can be changed immediately, he said that it is not acceptable for him that the regulators are acting on the basis of full approval.

Similarly, Hamal has also claimed that the policy of issuing 10 percent shares is fair for all types of companies.
