Kalpana, who was afraid to speak, became the leader of the insurance agent

Kathmandu : After entering the acting profession, life has changed with the introduction of Kalpana Devkota, the agency manager of Citizen Life. Kalpana, who is afraid to speak openly, has been identified as a leader by the insurance agent profession today. He is now known as an insurance agent from East to West Nepal.

She gives Citizen Life the first credit for becoming a distinct identity in the face of increasing competition and fearlessly stepping out of the house in the crowd.

Kalpana, who entered the insurance agent profession four years ago while doing her own insurance, is now motivating 80 agents by working as a senior agency manager. Devkota, who used to be an ordinary housewife and run a stationery shop before entering the insurance sector, is surprised not only by the family but also by the society.She  has sold more than 300 insurance policies in the period of four years in Citizen Life, during which she has also paid one insurance claim on time.

Devkota, who is enthusiastically pursuing her career as an insurance agent, earns up to Rs 1 lakh per month by selling insurance policies. She insists that the profession of an insurance agent is a suitable place to earn income without investment.

“You have to invest in other professions. Agent profession is a profession where you can earn a good income without investment. That’s why I joined this profession”, she said. Devkota, who joined the insurance agent profession in 2017, started insurance from her own family members.

Thinking that it is appropriate to start a new job by herself she got the first insurance for her own brother. Kalpana Devkota, who began her career as an agent by insuring her family, then gradually continued her career by insuring outside the home.

At first, he did not believe that he could earn so much by becoming an insurance agent. As the business grew, so did the income. Any was confident and diligent in this profession. Because he doesn’t want to talk openly, is it he doesn’t last long in this profession? I doubted that, at first. And, he has the experience of difficulty in the beginning. She decided to insure the babysitter, but how, which policy are important ? There was confusion about that.

She began her career as an insurance agent by selling insurance policies with the help of her mother to directly insure.

She said, “Initially, I found this profession difficulty, but as I continued to work, the team I joined encouraged me. And, today, I am continuing in this profession.”The initial insurance was a struggle for her. That struggle and patience became the key to success in the insurance agent profession for Nirmala.

His profession as an insurance agent is only part-time. She has not left her business. Kalpana, who took the profession of insurance agent along with business, says, “The profession of insurance agent is an independent profession.” She gives the spare time from other professions to the acting profession. Therefore, she considers the profession of insurance agent as an independent profession in terms of time and an excellent profession in terms of earnings.

Kalpana, who has been involved in various social activities for four years, considers acting as a social profession. She said that she became more active in this profession because she thought that insurance is also a social work.

Insurance helps to deal with big losses that may occur in the future with a small investment, she says, “Insurance is a habit of saving.” Insurance is necessary for anyone, insurance helps to deal with the risks that may come. Insurance is more important for consumers than for consumers. We should bring the eaters under the scope of insurance as we are insurance agents rather than eaters.”

After joining the acting profession he got the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life. In the society more people know than what they see and hear. Financially independent. There was a special glow in life. Good or bad sides are inherent in any profession. And being financially strong is a good aspect of the agent profession. He has experience that agents who work continuously can earn a name in the society.

An insurance agent is a person who acts as a bridge. Devkota says, “Just said is a now and Actor is a Man. An insurance agent is a person who acts as a bridge between the insurance company and the insured.

He says that a successful insurance agent should have various qualities. He has the experience that an actor must be diligent and persistent towards his profession. He is determined that anyone who perseveres can succeed in this profession. Kalpana says that the actor should have patience.

Kalpana says that insurance agents should have the qualities of hardworking, honest, tolerant, patient and able to explain about insurance. Even today in Nepali society, there are few people who readily accept the offer of insurance. He believes that the challenge that has emerged in the insurance market is to provide insurance to those who are not aware of the need for insurance.

Devkota says, “Instead of talking about insurance, even today, some people walk in confusion. Many people still have the intention of what to do instead of talking about insurance.” Aiming at newcomers who want to enter the insurance agent profession, she said that the agent profession is good in terms of income if you work continuously.

Kalpana suggests that there is a future in the insurance agent profession for those who have passed SLC or higher and are living in the same house.

What is insurance? How to do insurance? What kind of policies are there in the company you are affiliated with? She suggested that they should get into the insurance agent profession after getting full information about it. She urged the new entrants to get into this profession instead of wasting time at home even though they have qualifications.

In the world, being an insurance agent is considered as a financially respected profession, she says, “compared to other countries, this profession is looked down upon in Nepal.” And there is a trend that this profession is a bad profession.

Sharing her experience, she said, “We, who are engaged in the profession of insurance agents, should take the initiative to explain to those who have a negative attitude towards agents, that this profession is also a good profession.”

She said that if the actor continues to perform his duties, this profession will become respectable and dignified. He believes that insurance companies and insurance committees have an equal role to make the agent profession dignified and respected.
