Kathmandu : A person broke the ATM machine of Everest Bank with the intention of stealing in Biratnagar. The ATM machine placed in front of the bank’s Biratnagar branch office was broken on Thursday night, 26th December, 2023 A.D.

Morang police spokesperson DSP Ranjan Kumar Dahal said that there was an attempt to steal the ATM machine by breaking it.  He said,”It seems that the cover of the machine was broken with the intention of stealing and the search is on for the person involved in the incident.”

He said that there was an attempt to break the ATM machine in the middle of the night with the help of an object that looked like a stick.

On 16th of November, an attempt was made to break into the ATM of Nabil Bank in Biratnagar’s main market, Mahendra Chowk. While breaking the machine, the police arrested 30-year-old Mukesh Kumar Kamat, who lives in Ward No. 9 Gudri Bazar, Biratnagar.

On that incident, Kamat tried to open the ATM machine with a key and a small iron knife.
