The annual general meeting of 37 public companies is being held on 14th
Kathmandu : The annual general meeting of 37 public companies, including banks and financial institutions, listed in NEPSE, is being held on 14th of January, 2024 A.D. According to the Companies Act, the annual general meeting is scheduled to be held under the provision that the annual general meeting must be held by the mid of January (end of Paush month).
The companies that are going to hold their annual general meeting on 14th of January include Nepal Telecom, Nepal Bank, Jyoti Bikas Bank, Garima Bikas Bank, Himalayan Bank, Citizen Life Insurance and Butwal Power Company.
Among the mentioned companies, most 14 companies have offered dividends, while the shareholders of 23 public companies, including Himalayan Bank, will be empty handed. Nepal Telecom is giving the highest dividend among the public companies that will have their general meeting on this day. Telecom’s proposal to distribute 40 percent cash dividend will be passed by on this Annual General Meeting.
Similarly, Chhimek Laghubitta is giving 5 percent bonus shares and 10 percent cash dividend while ICFC (Industrial and Commercial Finance Corporation) Finance is giving 6.5 percent cash dividend. Similarly, Sana Kisan Laghubitta is giving 14.25 percent bonus shares while Universal Power Company is giving 8.55 percent bonus shares. Similarly, the proposal to distribute 9.5 percent bonus shares by Garima Bikas Bank and Jeevan Bikas Laghubitta will distribute 14 percent bonus shares as dividend, this decision is going to pass from the general meeting held on this day.
Mandakini Hydropower will pass a resolution to distribute 4.75 percent bonus shares, Radhi Bidhyut Company will pass 4.75 percent bonus shares, Butwal Power Company will pass 5 percent cash dividend and Global IME Microfinance will pass a resolution to distribute 10 percent cash dividend.
The shareholders of Himalayan Bank, Nepal Bank and Jyoti Bikas Bank holding their annual general meeting on this day will be empty handed as they have not proposed to distribute dividends. Similarly, Prime Bank, Barahi Hydro Power, Saptakoshi Development Bank, Upper Mailung Khola Hydro, Modi Energy, Synergy Power, Arun Valley Hydropower, Sanjel Hydropower Company, Ganapati Laghubitta, Rapti Hydro, Goodwill Finance, Pokhara Finance, Laxmi Laghubitta, Dordi Khola Hydro and 23 public companies, including Unnati Sahakarya Laghubitta and CYC Nepal Laghubitta, will not make decisions regarding dividend distribution from the annual general meeting.
