Out of 24 Insurance companies, 20 of them has Announce dividend

Eight companies made investors an empty hand

Kathmandu : Currently, 28 insurance companies are operating in Nepal. 24 insurance companies are listed and conducting business in Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE). Among them there are 12 life insurance companies and 12 non-life insurance companies.

All most all of the insurance companies have declared distribute dividends to shareholders by earning the profits of the last financial year. The main source of income for shareholders who invest in companies has declared the dividend by the company. Annual General Meetings of most insurance companies are conducted lately in Nepal in comparison to others field companies.

Among the 12 life insurance companies listed on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), 9 insurance companies have declared to distribute the dividends to their shareholders. Four companies are not able to distribute dividend to their investors.

Life Insurance Companies:

Based on the dividends announced by the companies, Suryajyoti Life and Sun Nepal Life have made investors happy. From the profit of the last financial year, Suryajyoti Life has declared a total of 35 percent dividend in cash and bonus. However, the dividend is remained to be approved by the Annual General Meeting.

Similarly, Sun Nepal Life has also made its investors happy. The company has declared a total dividend of 25.05 percent in cash and bonus from the profit of the last financial year. Whereas the 16.8 percent dividend announced by Reliable Nepal has already accounted in the demat account of the investors.

Similarly, Asian Life has declared 8.1578 percent dividend and Citizen Life has declared 5.26 percent dividend to the shareholders.

Whereas, Himalayan Life, Nepal Life, Sanima Reliance Life and LIC Nepal Life have decided not to distribute dividend to their investors.

Similarly, National Life and Prabhu Mahalaxmi Life have not yet declared their dividend.

Nonlife Insurance Companies:

Out of the 12 non-life insurance companies listed on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), 11 have declared dividends for their shareholders. In which 4 companies have decided not to distribute dividend.

Based on the dividends announcement by the companies, Himalayan Everest and Siddhartha Premier Insurance have made investors happy.

From the profit of the last financial year, Himalayan Everest Insurance has declared a total of 15 percent dividend in cash and bonus.

Similarly, Siddhartha Premier Insurance has announced a total of 11 percent dividend in cash and bonus from last financial year’s profit. Along with that, United Azod has declared a dividend of 10.8 percent, Nepal Insurance has declared 10.5263 percent, NLG has declared 5.78 percent, Prabhu Insurance and Sagarmatha Lumbini has declared 5 percent dividend to their shareholders.

Whereas, IGI Prudential, Neco, Sanima GIC and Shikhar Insurance decided not to distribute dividend to their shareholders. The government-owned Rastriy Beema Company limited had never declared the dividend.
