Day 3 of ICII2024 Conference Set to Address Key Challenges in Inclusive Insurance

Kathmandu- As the International Conference on Inclusive Insurance (ICII) 2024 runs into its third day, anticipation is building for several critical discussions aimed at advancing the reach and effectiveness of Insurance for underserved populations. Today’s sessions will be focused on Innovative strategies for addressing barriers and ensuring that inclusive insurance delivers both value to clients and profitability for companies.

Key highlights for Day 3 include a session on top-line and bottom-line strategies for Inclusive Insurance, where industry leaders like Mohammad Ali Ahmed (EFU Life Assurance) and Laura Elena Rosado (AXA EssentiALL) will share their approaches to making insurance more accessible and impactful, while maintaining a financial growth.

Another anticipated session will delve into the issue of basis risk in parametric insurance. Experts such as Andrea Camargo from World Food Programme and Bethwel Murkomen from One Acre Fund will discuss the critical need to manage the risk to sustain trust in insurance products designed for smallholder farmers.

Gender-responsive insurance will also take center stage as speakers including Carlos Lopez Moreira (IAIS) and Fatou Giwa (IFC) discuss strategies for closing the gender protection gap. This session will explore how insurance can be designed to meet the unique risks women face, offering pathways to financial empowerment.

Innovation will be a focus of the A2ii’s Inclusive Insurance Innovation Lab session, where hear from past lab alumni who have developed pioneering solutions for Inclusive Insurance. The session will highlight the importance of collaboration in creating an eco-system that supports innovative thinking and sustainable Insurance models.

With these and other sessions scheduled, Day 3 of ICII 2024 promises to move forward critical conversations that will shape the future of Inclusive Insurance globally.
