International Conference on Inclusive Insurance 2025 to be Held in Ecuador
Kathmandu – Following the conclusion of the International Conference on Inclusive Insurance (ICII) 2024 in Nepal, it has been announced that the 2025 edition will take place from 13-17 October in Quito, Ecuador. This prestigious event will bring together experts from over 50 countries to explore ways to accelerate the growth and economic viability of inclusive insurance in emerging markets.
The ICII 2025 conference will be hosted by the Federación Ecuatoriana de Empresas de Seguros (FEDESEG), the Junta de Política y Regulación Financiera (JPRF), and the Superintendencia de Compañías, Valores y Seguros, in collaboration the Munich Re Foundation and the Microinsurance Network. The conference has a long-standing history, having first launched in 2005 as the International Microinsurance Conference.
Over the past decade, the inclusive insurance sector has experienced substantial growth in both client outreach and premium volumes, bolstered by new technologies. However, millions of people in low-income segments remain without access to formal insurance or alternative risk management solutions, a situation likely to worsen with climate change. With the global middle class expected to grow to five billion within two decades, the need for inclusive insurance has never been more pressing.
The ICII aims to provide a platform for stakeholders—including NGOs, regulatory bodies, and the insurance industry—to collaborate on the development of sustainable, inclusive insurance products that can support low-income households and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). By raising awareness of the demand for these services, the conference fosters shared visions and new partnerships to expand access to insurance for those most in need.
As the 2024 conference in Nepal wraps up, all eyes are now on Ecuador, where global experts will gather next year to continue addressing these critical challenges.
