NLG Insurance Company Invests Rs 2.88 Billion Across Banking and Financial Sectors
Kathmandu – NLG Insurance Company Limited has invested a total of Rs 2.88 billion in various sectors by the end of the first quarter of the current fiscal year 2081/82, according to data published by the Nepal Insurance Authority.
The majority of the investment, amounting to Rs 2.05 billion, has been allocated to the ‘A’ class banking sector, making it the company’s primary focus. Additionally, the company has invested Rs 286.5 million in ‘B’ class banks and Rs 50.5 million in ‘C’ class banks.
NLG Insurance has also allocated Rs 184.3 million to preference shares of banks. Other notable investments include Rs 63.6 million in shares of listed companies and Rs 174.8 million in promoter shares.
Despite these significant investments, the company has refrained from investing in sectors such as agricultural production, solar energy, roads, education, and health. Similarly, it has not invested in shares of investment or unlisted companies.
Moreover, Rs 58.6 million has been directed towards Citizens’ Investment Fund and Mutual Funds, while Rs 10.5 million has been invested in other sectors.
