MicroInsurance Companies Collect Over Rs 400 Million Insurance Premium in Five Months
Kathmandu – Life microinsurance companies in Nepal have earned approximately Rs 405 million in insurance premiums during the first five months of the current fiscal year 2081/82, according to data released by the Insurance Authority. The three microinsurance companies in operation—Guardian Micro Life, Crest Micro Life, and Liberty Micro Life have collectively conducted business worth Rs 403.48 million as of Mangsir’s (mid-December) end.
Guardian Micro Life emerged as the top performer, collecting Rs 155.7 million in premiums during this period. Crest Micro Life followed closely, earning Rs 147.8 million, while Liberty Micro Life recorded premiums worth Rs 99.8 million.
In the month of Mangsir (mid-November to mid-December) alone, the companies collectively generated Rs 97.6 million in premiums. Guardian Micro Life led the monthly figures with Rs 36.6 million, closely followed by Crest Micro Life at Rs 36.3 million. Liberty Micro Life also contributed significantly, earning Rs 24.6 million during the same period.
