Health Insurance Board Introduces New Reimbursement Regulations

Kathmandu – The Health Insurance Board has issued new regulations regarding the management of reimbursements received by health institutions under the insurance program. These measures aim to streamline resource allocation and ensure improved healthcare services for the insured.
This directive is part of the board’s efforts to enhance the availability of essential medicines and modern medical equipment in healthcare facilities. According to the decision made during the board’s 22nd meeting, health institutions are now required to allocate 35 percent of the reimbursements for the purchase of medicines and 30 percent for acquiring medical equipment.
