Hong Kong Insurance Authority Warns of Fraudulent Websites Impersonating AIA

Hongkong – The Hong Kong Insurance Authority (IA) has issued a public warning about a fraudulent website falsely claiming to represent AIA International Limited, an authorized insurer in Hong Kong. The website appears to be designed to steal customer login credentials.
The IA has reported the case to the Hong Kong Police Force for further investigation and advises anyone who may have shared personal information or conducted transactions through the site to contact AIA’s customer service hotline and report the matter to the police. AIA has confirmed it has no connection to the site.
The IA also identified two other fraudulent websites misrepresenting themselves as official AIA platforms. Additionally, a phishing email from a suspicious source has been flagged for directing recipients to another deceptive site.
Consumers in Hongkong are urged to verify the legitimacy of insurers through the IA’s official Register of Authorized Insurers. This warning follows an earlier alert on March 11 about fraudulent websites impersonating Bupa (Asia) Limited. (News Agency)
