Pakistan Embassy in Kathmandu Celebrates 85th National Day with Flag Hoisting Ceremony

Kathmandu – The Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu celebrated the 85th National Day of Pakistan with a flag hoisting ceremony held at the embassy premises on Sunday (March 23). Ambassador H.E. Abrar H Hashmi hoisted the national flag, followed by the reading of messages from the President, Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister of Pakistan.
President Asif Ali Zardari, in his message, congratulated the nation and paid tribute to the sacrifices of Pakistan’s founding fathers and the workers of the Pakistan Movement. He stressed that embracing Unity, Faith, and Discipline would strengthen national security, boost the economy, advance agriculture, secure energy resources, and create opportunities for youth. President Zardari reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peaceful coexistence, regional stability, and strong global relationships while defending its sovereignty. He also expressed solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine in their fight for self-determination.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif highlighted the historical significance of March 23, marking the adoption of the Lahore Resolution in 1940, which led to the creation of Pakistan in 1947. He praised the visionary leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the sacrifices made by the nation’s forefathers. The Prime Minister also acknowledged the dedication of Pakistan’s armed forces and security personnel in safeguarding the country’s sovereignty.
Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar extended his greetings to Pakistanis worldwide, recognizing their hard work and contribution to the country’s success. He reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IioJK) in their pursuit of self-determination, pledging continued political, moral, and diplomatic backing.
Ambassador H.E. Abrar H Hashmi congratulated the Pakistani community and embassy staff, emphasizing that unity, hard work, and determination are key to Pakistan’s progress and prosperity. He also encouraged the community to stay engaged locally and contribute to strengthening Pakistan-Nepal relations.
The ceremony concluded with a renewed sense of national pride and unity, reinforcing Pakistan’s commitment to peace, stability, and progress at both regional and global levels.
