Shangrila Ply Industry Insured for Rs 350 Million with National Insurance

Kathmandu – Shangrila Ply Industry in Dang, Ghorahi Sub-metropolitan City-9, which was severely damaged by a fire, is insured with National Insurance for Rs 350 million. The fire, which broke out around 2 a.m. on Sunday due to an electrical short circuit, caused significant damage to wood, raw materials, and ply-making machines.
According to Hirendra Pd Karn, Chief of National Insurance’s Dang Sub-Branch, the total insurance coverage for the industry stands at Rs 350 million. “There have been rumors about the insured amount, but the actual coverage is Rs 350 million,” Karn clarified.
Despite efforts, the fire could not be brought under control by Monday evening as it spread across a large area. Eight fire trucks were used to control the fire, with fire engines being brought in from neighboring districts, including Tulsipur, Banke and Kapilvastu. Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Nepal Army, and local residents are actively involved in the operation. The authorities also evacuated nearby residents and their belongings to safety.
After completing the necessary procedures and submit an insurance claim to National Insurance, the insurance company will assign a surveyor to assess the extent of the damage before processing the claim payment.
