Insurance Awareness Program Held in Tamankhola, Baglung

Kathmandu – The Nepal Insurance Authority Gandaki Province Office organized an insurance awareness and interaction program in Tamankhola Rural Municipality, Baglung.

The event, jointly hosted by the Authority’s Gandaki Office and the rural municipality, focused on agricultural insurance, group accident insurance, and life insurance. The program was chaired by Shambhu Prasad Mishra, Chief of the Gandaki Province Office, and hosted by Hira Kumari Chantyal, Vice President of Tamankhola Rural Municipality.

Assistant Director of the Insurance Authority, Richa Kushum Lamsal, delivered a presentation on the importance of insurance. Local officials, insurance agents, farmers, businesspeople, and representatives from insurance companies actively participated in the discussions.

Farmers raised concerns about agricultural insurance, highlighting the need for broader coverage and awareness. Chief Administrative Officer Amit Pariyar pledged to incorporate insurance initiatives in the municipality’s upcoming policies. Vice President Chantyal, sharing her experience as a former life insurance agent, stressed that insurance is essential and called for increased publicity, particularly in rural areas.
