Health Insurance Service Set to Resume at Kesharpur Primary Health Centre in Baitadi

Kathmandu — The health insurance service at the Kesharpur Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Melauli, Baitadi, is set to resume after a two-year pause, according to the Health Insurance Board.
Jaman Badal, Chief of the Health Insurance Board in Baitadi, confirmed that preparations are underway to restart the service, which had been halted following the system’s transition to an ‘online’ platform. The Melauli Municipality has allocated Rs 500,000 for the procurement of necessary software to reactivate the centre’s operations.
Once the software is installed, Kesharpur will be reinstated as the first point for health insurance services in the region replacing Patan Primary Health Centre, which had temporarily taken over the role.
Currently, 52,000 individuals from 29,083 families in Baitadi are enrolled in the government’s health insurance scheme, which offers up to Rs 100,000 in free medical treatment per member annually.
