Kathmandu — Executive Director of the Nepal Insurance Authority, Susil Dev Subedi, has underlined the critical role of insurance in protecting lives, homes, and property, urging the public to transfer their financial risks to insurance institutions for greater safety and peace of mind.

Speaking during the 57th anniversary celebration of the Authority, Subedi reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to increasing insurance accessibility, particularly in rural areas and among populations living below the poverty line. He described insurance as a fundamental component of financial security, especially in a country vulnerable to natural disasters and unforeseen accidents.

Subedi highlighted that the Authority is working strategically to extend its reach beyond urban centers, with a strong focus on inclusive coverage. He noted that insurance access in Nepal has surpassed 44 percent, signaling gradual progress but also emphasizing the need for continued expansion and awareness.

The event was attended by key stakeholders from across the insurance sector, reflecting a unified push toward making insurance a more integral part of financial planning for all Nepalese.
