Asian Life Insurance Announces New Bonus Rates for Policyholders

Kathmandu — The Nepal Insurance Authority has approved the actuarial report on the financial position and liability valuation of Asian Life Insurance Company Limited for the previous fiscal year, paving the way for the company to release its updated bonus rates. The new rates, made public following the approval on Jestha 2 (May 16).

According to the announcement, policyholders of Endowment and whole life insurance policies will now receive bonuses ranging from Rs. 61 to Rs. 75 per thousand, based on the length of their insurance period.

Similarly, bonuses for other endowment life insurance policies have been set between Rs. 45 and Rs. 62 per thousand, while children’s endowment life insurance policies will receive between Rs. 42 and Rs. 52 per thousand.

For Group Endowment Life, Navratna, Jeevan Sanjeevani, Dampatti Suraksha Plus, Asian Annual Dhanlabh, and Provident Fund insurance policies, the new bonus ranges from Rs. 44 to Rs. 55 per thousand, depending on policy duration.

Bonus rates for Advance Payment Endowment Insurance policies will now range from Rs. 50 to Rs. 70 per thousand, while Child Higher Education Insurance policyholders can expect bonuses between Rs. 42 and Rs. 50 per thousand.

Other plans such as Asian Endowment Plus, 15-Year Advance Payment Term Life Plus, Sukhi Jeevan Plus, and Annual Payment Reversionary Bonus will offer bonuses from Rs. 38 to Rs. 56 per thousand. Additionally, a terminal bonus of Rs. 6 will be awarded across all policy durations.

Asian Life Insurance has clarified that these bonus rates will be applicable to various claims, including death claims, maturity claims, surrender value claims, paid-up value claims, and current in-force policies. The declared rates will remain effective until the next official bonus announcement.
