Dr. Biswo Nath Poudel Appointed as Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank
Kathmandu — The Government of Nepal has appointed Dr. Biswo Nath Poudel as the new Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank. A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Tuesday endorsed his name, making him the 18th Governor of the central bank.
Dr. Poudel’s appointment follows the recommendation made by the Governor Selection Recommendation Committee earlier the same day. The committee had shortlisted three candidates, among whom Poudel emerged as the final choice after high-level political consultations.
The top position at Nepal Rastra Bank had remained vacant since April 7 after the completion of Maha Prasad Adhikari’s five-year term.
