LIC India Earns Guinness World Record for Most Life Insurance Policies Sold in 24 Hours
New Delhi – Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has secured a coveted place in the Guinness World Record by setting a new global benchmark for the “Most life insurance policies sold in 24 hours.”
On January 20, 2025, LIC’s vast agency network accomplished a historic feat by issuing an extraordinary 5,88,107 life insurance policies within a single day. This record-breaking milestone was made possible through the combined efforts of 4,52,839 LIC agents operating across India.
The accomplishment, officially verified by Guinness World Records, highlights LIC’s unmatched operational capability and the unwavering commitment of its agency force. The Corporation described the achievement as a “testament to the dedication, discipline, and determination” of its agents.
The record attempt was the culmination of a thoughtful initiative by Siddhartha Mohanty, CEO and MD, LIC in the form of an appeal to every agent to complete at least one policy on “Mad Million Day” (January 20, 2025).
Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Mohanty thanked all the esteemed customers, agents and employees for making “Mad Million Day” historic as their incredible performance of procuring record number of Policies on a single day has now been recognized and has entered Guinness World Records – News Agency
