Government to Draft Blueprint to Push Insurance Access in Rural Area

Kathmandu – The government is set to introduce a detailed blueprint compelling insurance companies to extend their services beyond urban centers and into rural parts of the country.
Presenting the national budget for the fiscal year 2082/83 today, Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel announced that the new plan aims to address the longstanding hesitation among insurers to operate in remote districts—despite prior directives issued by the Insurance Authority.
To ensure compliance, the government itself will directly intervene if insurance companies fail to adhere to the expansion directives
