Insurance Authority Committed to Hydropower Reform, Says Chairman Ojha

Kathmandu – Chairman of the Nepal Insurance Authority, Sharad Ojha, has assured that the regulatory body is actively working to address the challenges in hydropower insurance and bring about swift reforms to ensure smoother operations in the sector.

Speaking at a program organized on the occasion of the sixth anniversary of the Nepal Insurance and Risk Management Association (NIRMA), Chairman Ojha emphasized the urgent need for improved coordination among the Insurance Authority, insurance companies, and hydropower developers. He stated that such collaboration is crucial to make hydropower insurance more efficient, reliable, and investment-friendly.

“We must chart a course that brings mutual benefit to all stakeholders in the days ahead,” Ojha Said.

Upon highlighting the importance of NIRMA’s role in strengthening the insurance sector, Ojha said the Authority remains committed to building a more systematic, transparent, and trustworthy insurance environment. He further reiterated his commitment to continuously resolve existing issues in the insurance industry, especially those hampering major infrastructure projects.
