Non-Life Insurance Companies in Nepal Collect Rs 39 Billion in Premiums

Kathmandu – Nepal’s non-life insurance sector has reported impressive earnings, with 14 operating companies collectively generating a total premium income of Rs 39.03 billion in the first eleven months of the current fiscal year.
According to the latest data published by the Insurance Authority, Shikhar Insurance has emerged as the top performer, collecting the highest premium amounting to Rs 5.09 billion during the period.
Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance secured the second position with total premium earnings of Rs 4.50 billion, followed by Siddhartha Insurance in third place with Rs 3.90 billion. Himalayan Everest Insurance stood fourth, earning Rs 3.51 billion in total premiums.
Other notable performers include IGI Prudential with Rs 3.39 billion, Neco Insurance with Rs 2.95 billion, NLG Insurance with Rs 2.74 billion, Oriental Insurance with Rs 2.42 billion, United Ajod Insurance with Rs 2.41 billion, and Sanima GIC Insurance with Rs 2.36 billion.
Further down the list, Nepal Insurance earned Rs 1.84 billion, Prabhu Insurance Rs 1.57 billion, Rastriya Beema Company Rs 1.31 billion, and National Insurance Company Rs 977.6 million in premiums by the end of Jestha (mid-June).
