Micro-Insurance Companies Earn Over Rs 849 Million in Premiums in 11 Months

Kathmandu – Nepal’s non-life microinsurance sector has seen steady growth, with four microinsurance companies collectively earning over Rs 849.5 million in insurance premiums during the first 11 months of the current fiscal year 2081/082.
According to data released by the Nepal Insurance Authority, this total premium collection was recorded up to the end of Jestha (mid-June). The four companies—Nepal Micro Insurance, Protective Micro Insurance, Star Micro Insurance, and Trust Micro Life Insurance—have issued a total of 339,214 insurance policies during this review period.
Leading the group, Nepal Micro Insurance Company posted the highest premium income, collecting Rs 237.95 million. Protective Micro Insurance Company followed closely, earning Rs 221 million, while Star Micro Insurance Company secured third position with Rs 201.7 million in total premiums.
Trust Micro Life Insurance Company also reported encouraging business growth, earning over Rs 188.7 million in premiums.
