Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance Bags ‘Best Managed General Insurance Company’ Award

Kathmandu – Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance Company Limited has been recognized as the “Best Managed General Insurance Company” at the ninth edition of the NewBiz Conclave and Business Excellence Awards 2025, organized by New Business Age Limited in Kathmandu.
The award reflects the company’s strong leadership and consistent performance, especially following its recent merger. The eight-member board is chaired by Manohar Das Mul, while Chunky Chhetri serves as the Chief Executive Officer. Under Chhetri’s leadership, the company has continued to distribute dividends post-merger, indicating robust financial health and sustainable governance.
According to unaudited financial reports for the third quarter of the current fiscal year, the company has recorded a net profit exceeding Rs 251.9 million. Its net insurance premium income has surpassed Rs 1.29 billion, with total assets reaching Rs 16.61 billion as of mid-Chaitra.
In addition, Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance has built a special reserve fund of over Rs 2.55 billion, a disaster fund of more than Rs 214.1 million, and retained earnings amounting to over Rs 626.1 million. The company’s net worth per share stands at Rs 248.82 as of the third quarter.
