Kathmandu – The government-owned Rastriya Beema Company has concluded interactive programs related to non-life insurance in five provinces as part of its annual plan for fiscal year 2081/82. The initiative, aimed at expanding non-life insurance business and raising public awareness, was held in collaboration with provincial governments and agencies.

The most recent program took place in the Sudurpaschim Province on Ashar 17 (July 1), hosted by Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah and coordinated through the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers. This event marked the fifth province-level interaction completed by the company this fiscal year.

According to the Rastriya Beema Company, the primary objective of the program is to strengthen policy-level advocacy for insurance and promote risk transfer through insurance mechanisms. The sessions encouraged active commitment from provincial bodies to support insurance initiatives.

Programs have been successfully conducted in the Sudurpaschim, Karnali, Lumbini, Gandaki, and Bagmati Provinces. However, similar programs are yet to be held in Koshi and Madhesh Provinces.

High-level participation included Chief Ministers, Departmental Ministers, Ministers of State, Vice-Chairpersons of Provincial Policy and Planning Commissions, Secretaries, and heads of various provincial government bodies.

The initiative was led by Hira Kumari Bartaula, Head of the Market Management Department, with strategic guidance from Chairman Dinesh Upadhyay, CEO Dr. Shivahari Shrestha, and Deputy CEO Subash Koirala.
