Insurance Companies See Broad Stock Gains Amid Market Rise

Kathmandu — The domestic stock market witnessed a notable upswing on Wednesday, with the NEPSE index climbing by 23.99 points to settle at 2707.85 points. This fourth trading day of the week brought positive momentum across several sectors, with insurance companies emerging as strong performers.
Both the life and non-life insurance sub-indices posted gains, rising by 0.33% and 0.20% respectively. A total of 20 insurance companies saw their share prices increase today, signaling renewed investor confidence in the sector.
Among non-life insurers, Nepal Insurance led the gains with a 1.42% rise in its share price, reaching Rs. 634.84. Other notable climbers included Prabhu Insurance (+1.30%), Shikhar Insurance (+1.20%), IGI Prudential (+0.95%), RBCL (+0.87%), and United Ajod Insurance (+0.28%).
The life insurance segment also showed healthy performance. LIC Nepal recorded a 1.01% gain, followed by Prabhu Mahalaxmi Life (+0.75%), IME Life (+0.73%), and Citizen Life (+0.66%). Other companies that saw price appreciation included Sun Nepal Life (+0.35%), Sanima Reliance Life (+0.55%), Himalayan Life (+0.11%), National Life (+0.16%), Asian Life (+0.05%), Reliable Nepal Life (+0.05%), Suryajyoti Life (+0.28%), and Nepal Life (+0.02%).
Meanwhile, reinsurance companies also reflected the sector-wide uptick. Himalayan Re gained 0.32%, while Nepal Re added 0.37%.
