Kathmandu – Nepal Life Insurance Company Limited has provided Rs 10 million to the Kathmandu Institute of Child Health (KIOCH) to support the construction of a multi-specialty children’s hospital in Budhanilkantha Municipality, Kathmandu. The financial support was extended under the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program.
A memorandum of understanding was signed between Nepal Life CEO Praveen Raman Parajuli and KIOCH Founding Chairman Dr. Bhagwan Koirala during a formal event at the KIOC office.
The hospital, named KIOCH-Kathmandu, is in the final phase of construction and is designed to serve as a hub for pediatric healthcare. While the main hospital building is still under construction, a Clinical Research Building has already been completed and is operational, offering treatment and research services related to child health and non-communicable diseases.
Nepal Life stated that it is committed to supporting the development of well-equipped children’s hospitals across all seven provinces to ensure access to specialized healthcare for children, particularly from low-income families.
KIOC has already launched its first hospital in Damak, which is providing a range of services including OPD, emergency, inpatient care, laboratory, radiology, PICU, NICU, HDU, and surgical operations through a newly completed modular OT.
