All Government Payments to Go Fully Electronic from Shrawan

Kathmandu – The Government of Nepal has made it mandatory for all payments made by public bodies to be processed through electronic systems starting from Shrawan 1, 2082. The Ministry of Finance has issued a circular to this effect on Ashar 29 (July 13), directing all relevant government entities to implement the policy.
The directive has been sent to all ministries, Nepal Rastra Bank, public corporations, the Nepal Securities Board, and various public committees and institutions.
This move follows the announcement made in Point No. 335 of the national budget for the fiscal year 2082/83, which stated that all public sector payments would be linked to electronic systems to ensure transparency, efficiency, and accountability in government financial transactions.
The Ministry clarified that the decision aligns with a resolution made by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun on Ashar 27 (July 11). The circular emphasizes full compliance starting at the beginning of the new fiscal year.
