Sebantak Pokharel Appointed Acting Chairman of Nepal Insurance Authority

Kathmandu — The government has appointed Joint Secretary Sebantak Pokharel of the Ministry of Finance as the new acting Chairman of the Nepal Insurance Authority.
The decision was made during a cabinet meeting held on Monday. According to a senior official, Pokharel will serve as chairman until further notice.
His appointment follows the suspension of former chairman Sharad Ojha, who was removed from office after an investigation was launched into allegations of submitting forged documents to secure the post.
Pokharel, a senior bureaucrat with experience in financial administration, will now oversee the regulatory operations of Nepal’s insurance sector during this interim period.
