Kathmandu — In a remarkable feat for the Nepali insurance sector, Raju Bhandari of Nepal Life Insurance Company’s Taplejung branch has set a new benchmark by conducting insurance business worth Rs. 12.8 million in the fiscal year 2081/82. This achievement marks the highest individual business volume ever recorded from the remote Taplejung district.

Bhandari, who has long been known for his consistent performance in the region, surpassed his previous personal best and played a pivotal role in the overall success of the Taplejung branch. His contribution alone accounts for 18 percent of the branch’s annual target of Rs. 70 million, according to branch manager Milan Rai. Notably, Bhandari managed to collect more than Rs. 5.2 million in premiums during the month of Ashar alone.

In recognition of his exceptional performance, Nepal Life Insurance will honor Bhandari with the prestigious Double Samriddhi Medal—a step above his previous Single Samriddhi Medal—at a formal ceremony to be held at Soaltee Hotel, Kathmandu.

Bhandari, who is known for his strong work ethic and commitment to client service, is regarded as a reliable pillar of support for policyholders in the region. Despite the geographical challenges of Taplejung, he has actively encouraged residents to adopt life insurance and contribute toward meeting the company’s annual targets.

Branch manager Milan Rai, who assumed his role in Taplejung only four months ago following a transfer from Khotang, praised Bhandari’s dedication and results. “His contribution is instrumental in pushing our branch toward new heights,” Rai said.

Originally from Bungkulung, ward no. 9 of the former Hangdeva VDC in Taplejung, Bhandari is the second son of Kamala and Romnath Bhandari. He credits his success to the unwavering support of his family and encouragement from the company’s leadership, including directors and senior management based at the central office in Kamaladi, Kathmandu.
