Government Committee to Probe Sharad Ojha’s Appointment and Decisions at Insurance Authority

Kathmandu — The Government of Nepal has initiated a formal investigation into both the appointment process and subsequent decisions made by Sharad Ojha during his tenure as Chairman of the Insurance Authority.

According to officials, the investigation committee formed by the Council of Ministers is not only reviewing the legality and transparency of Ojha’s appointment but also scrutinizing the key decisions he took while holding office. The move comes amid growing concerns about governance and regulatory compliance within Nepal’s insurance sector.

On Thursday, a team led by committee coordinator Krishna Giri visited the Nepal Insurance Authority’s office in Kupandol to gather information and begin a detailed review. Sources say the committee will closely examine whether Ojha’s actions as chairman were consistent with the laws and regulatory frameworks governing the authority.
