July 23rd, 2025

Kathmandu — Himalayan Life Insurance Company has recognized three of its most outstanding agents for their exceptional performance in the fiscal year 2081/82. Demonstrating dedication, strategy, and remarkable outreach, Bimal Dhakal, Rabindra Timilsina, and Surya Prasad Baral have emerged as the top agents of the year, each recording life insurance transactions worth millions and contributing significantly to the company’s national success.

At the top of the list is Bimal Dhakal, a leading agent from the Nepalgunj branch, who secured the highest business volume from his code. Dhakal completed life insurance business worth Rs 16.43 million, making him the nation’s top performer among thousands of agents affiliated with Himalayan Life. Known for his strategic approach and personal connection with clients, Dhakal believes a thoughtful and customer-centered proposal makes all the difference.

“To be a successful agent, one needs both planning and emotional intelligence,” Dhakal shared. “It is essential to consider the needs and preferences of the insured. Offering age-appropriate policies and giving clients a sense of choice builds trust, which is the foundation of this profession.”

Dhakal also expressed concern over the growing trend of forceful insurance practices in the industry. He emphasized that insurance should be proposed responsibly—aligned with the client’s understanding and capacity, not just sold under pressure.

Coming in second is Rabindra Timilsina, representing the Chapagaun branch, who closed the fiscal year with an impressive Rs 10.14 million in insurance business. Timalsina, widely respected among peers for his tireless work ethic and empathetic service, described insurance not merely as a financial product, but as a “promise of human service.”

“Insurance is not just a policy; it’s my commitment to stand with families during their hardest times,” Timilsina said. “It’s about bringing hope and becoming a trusted companion in their lives.”

Securing the third position is Surya Prasad Baral of the Lamachaur Bagar branch, who conducted business worth Rs 10.04 million. With 14 years of experience in the field, Baral is a five-time “Nepal Top” performer and has achieved the MDRT target for 10 consecutive years. He is well known for his grassroots outreach across areas like Pokhara, where he continues to raise awareness about the value of life insurance.

“Insurance is a vital tool for securing one’s future,” Baral said. “This year, I met countless people—some were ready to insure right away, others needed time and understanding. But when properly explained, they all embraced the importance of coverage.”

The consistent achievements of these three agents underscore the growing strength of Himalayan Life’s national network. Thousands of agents across the country are engaged in delivering life insurance services to families and communities, while the company regularly invests in training and capacity-building programs to equip agents with the skills they need to thrive.
