National Life Insurance Pays Rs 3 Million Death Claim to Family in Kanchanpur

Kathmandu — National Life Insurance Company’s Dhangadhi branch has settled a death claim of nearly Rs 3 million to the family of the late Dambar Bahadur Chhetri, a resident of Punarbas Municipality-6, Kanchanpur.
The company handed over a cheque of Rs 2,761,577 to Chhetri’s wife, Sushma Chhetri, at her residence. The total insured amount was Rs 2,993,333, from which Rs 231,756 was deducted due to an outstanding loan taken by the insured.
Chhetri, who was insured for Rs 2.5 lakh on Magh 29, 2078, passed away on Chaitra 25, 2081. The claim handover was conducted in a special program attended by Sudurpaschim Province Chief of the company, Nabin Kishore Bhatta, staff of the Dhangadhi branch, agents, and more than two dozen residents.
Speaking at the event, Province Chief Bhatta emphasized the importance of life insurance as a secure means of future savings and protection for families in times of crisis.
Locals present during the claim settlement appreciated the company’s effort to deliver the amount directly to the family, noting that such timely action has boosted public confidence in insurance services.
Chhetri’s wife expressed gratitude to the company, stating that the claim amount has helped ease the financial strain caused by the untimely death of her husband. She further emphasized the need for making life insurance mandatory to safeguard families from unexpected hardships.
