Kathmandu — Life insurance companies in Nepal have collected a total of Rs 182.27 billion in premiums from various insurance products by the end of the Ashar 2081/82, according to the Nepal Insurance Authority. The amount was generated from policies including endowment, advance payment, converted endowment, child-related endowment, foreign employment term, lifetime, single premium, micro, and other insurance categories.
Bagmati Province continued to dominate the market, contributing Rs 80.3 billion in premiums — the highest among all provinces. Lumbini Province ranked second with Rs 28.71 billion in total premiums, followed by Koshi Province with Rs 22.32 billion. Gandaki Province reported Rs 18.45 billion, while Madhesh Province collected Rs 16.31 billion.
In the far west, Sudurpaschim Province generated Rs 11.18 billion, and Karnali Province recorded the lowest premium volume at Rs 5.24 billion.
