Rastriya Beema Company Reports Rs 427.6 Million in Net Profit in FY 2081/82

Kathmandu – Rastriya Beema Company Limited, a government-owned insurance provider, has reported a notable decline in net profit for the fiscal year 2081/82. The company’s profit fell by 31.83 percent, dropping from Rs 627.3 million in the previous fiscal year to Rs 427.6 million.

The company’s net earned premium also saw a decline of 20.45 percent, falling from Rs 311 million to Rs 247.4 million. Despite these setbacks, the size of the company’s insurance fund experienced significant growth, increasing from Rs 663.2 million to Rs 2.92 billion.

Total income of the company saw a modest rise, moving from Rs 1.3 billion to Rs 1.4 billion, while total expenses increased from Rs 457.7 million to Rs 474.5 million. Earnings per share also dropped sharply, falling by 74.89 percent from Rs 235.27 to Rs 160.38, whereas the net worth per share currently stands at Rs 6,489.08.

The company, which has a paid-up capital of Rs 266.6 million, maintains substantial reserves, including Rs 3.15 billion in special reserves, Rs 2.47 billion in retained earnings, and Rs 692.2 million in the catastrophe fund.
