Nepal Life Insurance Posts Strong Growth in FY 2081/82, Life Insurance Fund Reaches Rs 233 Billion

Kathmandu — Nepal Life Insurance, the country’s largest life insurer, has reported significant growth in its key financial indicators for the fiscal year 2081/82, with its life insurance fund surging to Rs 233 billion. This marks a notable rise from Rs 195.07 billion recorded in the previous fiscal year.
The company’s retained earnings reached Rs 1.24 billion, while income from loans and investments stands at Rs 163 billion. Nepal Life, with a paid-up capital of Rs 9.02 billion, recorded a slight increase in earnings per share (EPS) to Rs 6.68 from last year’s Rs 6.26.
Net insurance premium income rose by 18.84% to Rs 47.6 billion, compared to Rs 40.11 billion in the previous year, reflecting an overall insurance business growth of 18.84%. The company’s total income climbed 15.43% to Rs 68.30 billion, up from Rs 59.17 billion a year ago.
Nepal Life’s net profit jumped 17.37% to Rs 603.2 million, compared to Rs 513.9 million in the previous year. During the review period, the company distributed Rs 3.66 billion as commission expenses to its agents.
