Health Insurance Board Expands Service Network with 26 Hospitals

Kathmandu – The Health Insurance Board has expanded its service network by signing agreements with 22 local levels and 26 hospitals across the country, strengthening access to healthcare under the national insurance scheme.
In line with Sub-section 6 of Section 9 of the Health Insurance Act 2074 (First Amendment 2080), every local level is required to have at least one health institution designated as the first service point for insured citizens.
With the latest agreements, the Board now has a total of 502 service-providing health institutions nationwide. This includes 417 first service points and dispatch centers. As a result, 376 local levels now have at least one health institution designated as a first service point.
According to the Board, the expansion ensures that insured individuals can receive timely and affordable treatment within their local jurisdictions.
