Kathmandu — The Nepal Insurance Authority has instructed insurance companies to expedite the settlement of claims related to damages caused during the Gen Z protests on Bhadra 23 and 24.

Issuing a notice on Thursday, the authority urged insurers to process claims promptly and efficiently, citing significant damage to both public and private properties and the resulting hardships faced by policyholders.

“Considering the damage to the insured’s property and the inconvenience caused by the said situation, it is requested to settle the claims that may arise from it as quickly and easily as possible,” the notice stated.

The authority has further directed insurers to submit weekly reports on the extent of damages. Companies are required to send detailed Excel worksheets through a designated Google form every Wednesday.

The Gen Z protests, which erupted across various parts of the country, caused extensive damage to government offices, private buildings, businesses, and other structures.
