Kathmandu — MetLife, a leading provider of insurance and employee benefits, has announced a three-year global partnership with Global Citizen, the world’s largest movement to end extreme poverty. The collaboration aims to promote financial empowerment, education, and community resilience around the world.

As a lead partner, MetLife will combine its financial expertise and global reach to strengthen Global Citizen’s initiatives through funding, employee engagement, and education-focused programs.

In a key move, the MetLife Foundation has pledged $9 million as a founding donor to the FIFA–Global Citizen Education Fund, which seeks to raise $100 million to provide quality education and sports opportunities for children globally.

Education has been a major focus for MetLife Foundation for nearly 50 years, supporting programs in financial literacy, STEM education, mentoring, and skill development.

“At MetLife, we believe in being present in the moments that matter, guided by our purpose to build a confident future for all,” said Michel Khalaf, Chairman and CEO of MetLife. “This partnership will promote financial health, expand educational opportunities, and strengthen communities worldwide.”

MetLife’s support will also extend to Global Citizen’s major events, including the Global Citizen Festival in New York’s Central Park and the Global Citizen Now Action Summits, which bring together artists, activists, and policymakers to address global challenges.

“We believe in the power of partnerships to solve complex global problems,” said Hugh Evans, Co-founder and CEO of Global Citizen. “This collaboration with MetLife and MetLife Foundation will help accelerate progress toward a more prosperous and equitable world.”

Since its inception in 2008, Global Citizen has mobilized $49 billion in commitments that have positively impacted 1.3 billion lives worldwide.
