Siddhartha Premier Receives the Highest Insurance Claims from Gen-Z Protest; Over 1.95 Billion Paid So Far

Kathmandu – Insurance companies have begun disbursing large-scale claim payments following the Gen-Z protest. According to the latest data released by the Nepal Insurance Authority, non-life insurance companies have so far received Rs 23.19 billion in initial insurance claims from 3,163 cases as of Ashoj 28.

Out of the total, insurers have already paid Rs 1.95 billion, which includes both advance and direct claim settlements. The Insurance Authority has instructed all companies to expedite the process to ensure timely relief for those affected by the Gen-Z protest.

Among all insurers, Siddhartha Premier Insurance has received the highest amount of claims, totaling Rs 5.48 billion from 394 policyholders nationwide. The company has already paid Rs 788 million, including advance payments.

Oriental Insurance follows with Rs 5.24 billion in initial claims from 98 cases, while it has paid Rs 7.17 million so far. IGI Prudential Insurance ranks third, having received Rs 2.79 billion in claims from 215 cases, of which Rs 307.6 million has been settled.

Shikhar Insurance has received claims worth Rs 2.41 billion from 433 cases, disbursing Rs 422.7 million to date. Likewise, Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance has reported Rs 1.59 billion 38 million in claims from 342 policyholders, paying out Rs 27.9 million. Neco Insurance has received Rs 1.15 billion 54 million in claims from 259 cases and has paid Rs 83.9 million so far.

Other companies, including Himalayan Everest Insurance, United Ajod Insurance, Nepal Insurance, NLG Insurance, Prabhu Insurance, and Sanima GIC Insurance, have also started releasing claim payments. Himalayan Everest has disbursed Rs 24.53 million, while United Ajod, Nepal Insurance, NLG, Prabhu, and Sanima GIC have paid Rs 17.8 million, Rs 52.27 million, Rs 3.9 million, Rs 1.4 million, and Rs 200,000, respectively.
