Governance Concerns Emerge at Himalayan Everest Insurance

October 31st, 2025

Kathmandu — Concerns have surfaced regarding the management practices at Himalayan Everest Insurance, with employees reporting internal coordination issues and limited executive decision-making authority.

According to staff members, the company’s operations have become increasingly centralized under Chairman Mahendra Krishna Shrestha, while Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Anju Shrestha has reportedly been unable to exercise full administrative authority. Employees have expressed that this situation has affected workplace efficiency and morale.

Some employees have also indicated that they are reluctant to raise formal complaints with the Nepal Insurance Authority (NIA) due to fear of job insecurity. The Authority has reportedly received informal feedback about the situation but has not initiated formal proceedings because of a lack of documented evidence.

A senior official at the Authority stated that they are aware of concerns raised informally and emphasized that any action would require written complaints and verifiable information from affected parties.

As of now, Himalayan Everest Insurance has not made any official comment regarding these concerns.
