Amb. Dr. Sarmila Parajuli Dhakal Meets AGDA Deputy Director General Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al Dhaheri to Explore Strategic Collaboration
Abu Dhabi – Ambassador Dr. Sarmila Parajuli Dhakal, President of the International Relations & Global Diplomacy Dialogue (IRGDD) and former Ambassador of Nepal, held a series of high-level meetings in Abu Dhabi to explore strategic collaboration in diplomacy and renewable energy.
During her visit to the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy (AGDA), Dr. Parajuli met with Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al Dhaheri, Deputy Director General of the UAE’s leading institution for diplomatic training, research, and strategic studies. The discussions focused on potential cooperation in diplomatic training, research exchange, and joint academic programs. Both sides expressed interest in initiatives covering foreign policy and diplomatic studies, economic diplomacy and development cooperation, joint research and publications, capacity-building programs for emerging diplomats and researchers, as well as expert exchanges and participation in global dialogue platforms.
Upon highlighting IRGDD’s mission, Dr. Parajuli emphasized the importance of connecting Nepal’s academic and diplomatic community with globally renowned institutions like AGDA. The meeting marked a significant step toward strengthening Nepal–UAE think-tank cooperation, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and professional diplomatic experience, and fostering the development of future diplomatic leaders.

Following her engagement with AGDA, Dr. Parajuli visited the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) headquarters in Masdar City, where she was warmly received by Deputy Director-General Ms. Gauri Singh. Their discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in renewable energy, capacity building, and sustainable development initiatives. Both leaders agreed to strengthen the existing partnership further, exploring deeper collaboration in technical assistance, policy research, and sustainable energy programs.
Expressing her appreciation for IRENA’s global leadership in clean energy transformation, Dr. Parajuli reaffirmed IRGDD’s commitment to supporting Nepal’s green energy ambitions and contributing to the broader international dialogue on sustainable development.
