Nepal Insurance Authority and NLG Insurance Discuss Expanding Insurance Reach in Karnali

Kathmandu – A high-level discussion has taken place between Nil Prasad Lamichhane, Chief of the Karnali Province Office of the Nepal Insurance Authority, and Sunil Ballabh Pant, Chief Executive Officer of NLG Insurance Company Limited, with a focus on expanding insurance coverage and strengthening service delivery across Karnali Province.

During the meeting, both sides held an in-depth dialogue on improving access to insurance services in remote and rural areas of the province, enhancing insurance literacy, and increasing coordination with local governments to broaden service outreach. They also discussed identifying key risks prevalent in Karnali and developing insurance products tailored to the specific needs of the region.

NLG Insurance currently operates in Karnali Province through six offices, including one provincial office and five sub-branch offices. The meeting reviewed the existing service capacity of these offices and explored possibilities for further expansion, along with various measures to improve service quality and efficiency.

Representatives from both institutions expressed their commitment to strengthening cooperation and coordination to make insurance services more systematic, faster, and customer-friendly throughout the province. The collaboration is expected to significantly enhance the reach and impact of insurance services in Karnali in the coming days.
