January 9th, 2026

Kathmandu – A total of 667 agents from 14 life insurance companies operating in Nepal have successfully achieved the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) target for 2026, reflecting the growing professionalism of Nepal’s life insurance sector. According to data compiled by Beemapost, the achievers include seven Top of the Table (TOT) members, 20 Court of the Table (COT) members, and 640 agents who met the MDRT benchmark.

MDRT is a globally recognized platform for professional life insurance agents and is considered a major career milestone in the industry. The qualification period for MDRT 2026 concluded with the end of 2025. Agents who collected premiums of Rs 5.396 million qualified for MDRT, while the thresholds stood at Rs 16.19 million for COT and Rs 32.38 million for TOT. Agents achieving the TOT level will be invited to the MDRT Annual Meeting to be held in California, USA, from October 6 to 9, 2026. In addition, MDRT-qualified agents will have the opportunity to participate in the global conference scheduled in Australia from August 23 to 26.

Among the life insurers, Nepal Life Insurance has emerged as the leading company with 110 agents qualifying for MDRT 2026, the highest number recorded this year. National Life Insurance followed in second place with 83 MDRT qualifiers, including two TOT and four COT achievers, although this represents a decline compared to 100 agents selected in the previous fiscal year. LIC Nepal, which led the rankings last year, secured third position this time with 82 MDRT qualifiers, including three TOT and six COT achievers.

IME Life Insurance recorded a significant improvement, doubling its MDRT achievers to 74 agents in 2026, including one COT member. Citizen Life Insurance also showed strong performance, with 70 agents qualifying for MDRT and the company achieving one TOT milestone during the year. Himalayan Life Insurance saw 57 agents reach the MDRT target, while Suryajyoti Life Insurance recorded 55 MDRT achievers. Sanima Reliance Life Insurance had 39 agents qualify, followed by Reliable Nepal Life Insurance with 27, Prabhu Mahalaxmi Life Insurance with 20, and Sun Nepal Life Insurance with six agents achieving the target.

MetLife Nepal, an American life insurance company operating in Nepal, continues its policy of not allowing agents to participate in the international MDRT platform. As a result, its agents remain excluded from the global recognition, learning, and networking opportunities provided by MDRT.
