Neco Insurance issues rebuttal to published news

March 22nd, 2026

Kathmandu – Neco Insurance has issued a formal rebuttal regarding a news report published in Beemapost on November 23, 2025, through a letter sent on March 9, 2026.

Statement from Neco Insurance:

The company has expressed serious concern and objection over the news article published in Beemapost on November 23, 2025, titled “Neco Insurance CEO Ashok Khadka Travels to Australia to Attend UML Party Program,” along with other related reports.

The company states that it is the responsibility of media outlets to publish accurate and fact-based information in order to properly inform the public. It further notes that when media outlets act beyond this responsibility by engaging in unnecessary pressure, threats, or publishing false and misleading information driven by personal bias, the public is deprived of accurate information, individuals and institutions suffer reputational harm, and the credibility of the media itself is undermined.

Neco Insurance maintains that the reports linking the company to the matter are entirely baseless. It clarifies that the Board of Directors had approved sending the concerned individual to Australia for business promotion purposes, with prior approval from the regulatory authority. It adds that misleading reports were published regarding this official visit. The company also denies statements attributed to its Chairman, saying he never made the remarks that were published.

As the reports are false and misleading, the company has requested media outlets not to publish such content in the future and to issue corrections along with a formal retraction of the published news.

Sincerely,
Vishnu Prasad Dhital
Information Officer

Beemapost’s response:

Beemapost maintains that its reporting is accurate and not false. It further cites a Facebook post dated September 17, 2025, by Neco Insurance CEO Ashok Khadka as supporting evidence.

The report also states that Ashok Khadka, as CEO of a public company with 21 percent government ownership, receives salary and benefits from the company while also serving as a member of the CPN-UML 10th General Convention Organizing Committee and its economic committee. In addition, his involvement in fundraising activities is not permitted under Nepali law.
