Praveen Raman Parajuli Elected President of Life Insurance Association of Nepal

Kathmandu – Praveen Raman Parajuli, Chief Executive Officer of Nepal Life Insurance Company, has been elected as the President of the Life Insuramce Association of Nepal. The decision was made unanimously during the association’s sixth annual general meeting, held in Kathmandu on Bhadra 29.

The newly formed executive committee, established in line with the association’s statute, includes Prakash Bikram Khatri of Suryajyoti Life as Vice-Chairman, Narayan Lohani of Reliable Nepal as Secretary, and Dinesh Lal Shrestha of Asian Life as Treasurer. Similarly, Manoj Lal Karna of Himalayan Life, Sundar Panthi of Rastriya Beema Sansthan, and Pranay Kumar of LIC Nepal will serve as members.

The committee has pledged to focus on advancing the insurance sector in Nepal, with key priorities including insurance awareness campaigns, capacity building, safeguarding the rights and interests of life insurance employees, and expanding insurance services to underserved populations. In addition, the association emphasized its commitment to launching welfare programs for policyholders and playing an effective role in policymaking to strengthen the industry.

The annual general meeting was attended by representatives from various insurance companies and association members. Discussions highlighted current challenges and opportunities facing Nepal’s life insurance sector, along with strategies to enhance growth and public trust in the industry.
