Six People Who Lost Their Lives in a Jeep Accident Near Ranimahal in Palpa
It has been revealed that 6 people who lost their lives in a jeep accident near Ranimahal in Palpa belong to the same family. According to the District Police Office, Palpa, there are Six people who died, three women, one man and two children.
The deceased are 65-year-old Krishna Bahadur Lohani, 55-year-old wife Parvati Lohani, 35-year-old daughter-in-law Savina Dhital, 11-year-old grandson Sobis Dhital and another two-and-a-half-year-old from Rajahar, Devchuli Municipality Ward No. 16 of East Nawalparasi.
Krishna Bahadur’s relative 55-year-old Chuna Dhital also died in the accident.
36-year-old Ishwar Bahadur Lohani, son of Krishna Bahadur, was seriously injured.
According to Keshavraj Gautam, ward chairman of Devchuli municipality ward number 16, they left home on Saturday to visit Ranimahal. ‘They are all my neighbors. I know everyone,’ said Gautam.
According to him, Krishna Bahadur was employed abroad for a long time. He had returned home only a short time ago.
While they were returning from seeing the Ranimahal in Palpa, the jeep numbered Bagmati Province 01-026 Ch 7209 met with an accident at Vaikunthe Chhango in Tansen Municipality of Palpa.
It is suspected that the jeep which was returning with people who had visited Ranimahal, a tourist spot in Palpa, may have backed down on the uphill road and met with an accident.
According to the police, the accident site was difficult and the jeep fell into the gorge of the Barangdi River, so the police had difficulty in rescuing the victim in time.About 100 meters down from the road, the jeep fell from the cliff and crashed on the stones of the river. The bodies of the deceased were recovered from the river.
It took time for the police to rescue some of the dead as they were crushed by the vehicle.
The dead and injured in the accident which happened around 5 pm were rescued by the Nepali Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police and local residents.
The accident site is 11 km away from Palpa headquarter Tansen, while the jeep met with an accident at a distance of one and a half km back from Ranimehal.
