UN Secretary General Guterres said – the Days Ahead are Good for Nepal

Kathmandu: United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres, who is visiting Nepal, is busy with high-level meetings and observation tours. On Sunday, he had a meeting with Prime Minister Prachanda. During the meeting with Prime Minister Prachanda, he said that he is ready to help Nepal’s transitional justice process. He is of the opinion that the process of transitional justice should be based on international standards, Supreme Court orders and should be victim friendly.

In a joint press conference held after the meeting with the Prime Minister, Guterres said that the coming days of Nepal will be more important. He said that the coming days of Nepal will be happy as the promotion, peace process and transitional justice are about to be finalized in developing countries.

Guterres met President Ramchandra Paudel on Sunday and he has a list of meetings with the top leaders of the party as well. Secretary-General Guterres is scheduled to visit the historic and archaeological sites of Patan Durbar area, Namche, Pokhara, Annapurna Base Camp and Lumbini.

Secretary General Guterres is scheduled to address the joint meeting of the Federal Parliament at 4 pm on Tuesday, according to the Parliament Secretariat.

Guterres, who visited Nepal for the first time after becoming the Secretary General of the United Nations in 2017, had a predetermined agenda to discuss peace process, sustainable development, and climate change.
